What is an Adjustment?
A chiropractic adjustment is an art. The joint is assessed to see if and how it is fixated, locked up or improperly moving. Based on the direction or directions of the improper motion or fixations of the joint, a specific force is applied in a specific direction. A popping sound may or may not be heard. The adjustment helps the joints return to a more normal position and motion, to improve spinal and nervous system functions, therefore, improving health.
There are many techniques used to adjust the joints. There are hands on and instrument techniques. Not all patients are adjusted the same way. The evaluation of the patient’s individual problem, then a course of care is determined by years of training and experience. The goal being to provide relief and correction as quickly as possible, each visit builds on the one before.
